Hello, I am Sophie
I work as a project manager. A parent. An expatriate based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Several years back I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life abroad.
The Beginning of Our Journey
Moving to Netherlands wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many international assignments, it started as a job chance and soon grew into something far beyond.
The initial weeks were challenging— unfamiliar processes, routines, and expectations. Everyday chores felt more cumbersome than usual.
The Adaptation Phase
There was culture shock, doubt, and plenty of learning through experience. Gradually patterns took shape. We found spots that suited us, connected with other families, and began constructing something that felt steady.
Why I Created CloudAtlasPath
Most online resources were either corporate relocation guidance or shallow tourism content. What was lacking was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to fill that gap with practical advice grounded in real life in Netherlands.
